Extra Life

The Giving Season is upon us, dear Reader. 

Next week, we’ll participate in Extra Life, a 25-hour livestream to raise money for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. This is a charity event that we’ve done for the past four years, with last year being our biggest yet, but we hope to surpass it with this upcoming livestream!

We have volunteers from our community and staff who are excited to share their interests and hobbies with you! Like last year, we’ll do hourly giveaways to raise money for Extra Life. You can donate now through the link you’ll find at the end of this blog! Each donation of $5 or more will get you one (1) entry into our giveaways, with a maximum of 10 giveaway entries per person! You’re welcome (and encouraged)  to donate more, but giveaway entries will be limited to 10 per person. For example, a donation of $25 will get you 5 giveaway entries. 

Thanks to our amazing vendors, we’ve secured a fantastic list of giveaways. Tristar sent us some mystery memorabilia boxes, including a baseball and mini-helmet. Topps donated some Zero Cool Stranger Things boxes (they were a hit when they were first released, and we haven’t been able to keep them stocked). GTS Distribution gave some amazing TCG playmats. Fanatics gave us an authentic, full-sized Bo Nix autographed helmet. 1985 Games made a magnificent donation consisting of a bunch of D&D supplements! 

This year, we’re kicking things off with our board games design group with a play-along section. Next, we’ll host a painting class hosted by a community member. He told me the plan is to highlight how paint glows like you see on power weapons in WH40K. (I’m very excited for this part!) After that, Josh will be playing BattleTech. Closing out the first half of the livestream, community volunteers will be playing an Apocalypse level game of Warhammer 40,000. The second half will be a lot of TCGs, like Magic and more!
