Sports Cards and Stuff | Marching On!

Sunday was the closing ceremony, and it was amazing! The show was just as amazing!! Not to mention the Womens’ Skating was a perfect way to end the Olympics.

We all know that skating has been in the news lately because of the Russian Olympic Committee’s, Kamila Valieva, and the positive doping test. However, Tara Lipinski and Johnny Weir had strong opinions about her skating and programs. Of course, they also had strong views on all the programs, but the USA, South Korea, and Japanese teams were all top of their game.

I loved watching all those who were not trying to medal but just trying their best. The programs were soft, powerful, achieving, and unforgettable. The jumps, spins, and choreography were always spot on.

Sunday marked the start of the NASCAR season with the Daytona 500. It was a race for sure. I know I watch the sport for the caution yellow flags; I know it's a bit sad, but the wrecks are where you get to see who can drive and who can't. This race was no different.

Winning the Daytona 500 is a considerable landmark in any driver's career, but it was an excellent chance to see a rookie win this year. Austin Cindric edged past Bubba Wallace in the final lap to win the Daytona 500 and has automatically qualified for the playoffs.

March is about to start, and we’re prepping for the most events we’ve had since we’ve opened! Then we’re doing two breaks, Panini NBA Player of the Day, two trade nights, and a couple of surprises along the way!

The two trade nights are also going to be exciting. We hosted the first-ever trade night in the new space last month, and the turnout was fantastic! Everyone had a bunch of fun trading and hanging out with other people in the hobby! There are two trade nights in March, one on March 9 and another on March 19. The trade night on March 9 will be a similar event to the one in February; people are free to hang out, trade, and have fun. However, the trade night on March 19 will be a little special. It’ll be a Daddy and Me event! Spending quality time with children is a great way to strengthen existing relationships and a great way to show them something new that you enjoy! Although the event is titled “Daddy and Me,” parents of any gender are welcome to attend! The important part is the bonding time! Although children of any age are welcome, this event will be targeted at younger children.

The other breaks happening this upcoming month are an NBA and an NFL break. The first break falls on the same day as the Panini NBA Play of the Day program starts, March 11. We’ll be ripping two hobby boxes of 2021-22 Donruss Elite NBA for this break. The second break will occur on March 25 and showcase two hobby boxes of 2021 Panini Mosaic Football.

There will be more information released as we get closer to March!
