Manga and Magic

Well, hello there, Planeswalker, come here often? 

This week, we’re looking at some incoming Manga and Magic: the Gathering books and bundles. 

Starting strong, we just did a massive reorder for the manga author and artist, Junji Ito (just in time for Halloween). Junji Ito might be familiar to you, considering Netflix is highlighting Junji Ito Maniac: Japanese Tales of the Macabre for Halloween. Ito is best known for his horror and striking, surreal, inked art style. The former dental technician explores themes of body horror, loss of humanity, and apocalyptic scenarios and incorporates his personal fears of being watched, death, and insects. His works are a hair-raising thrill, not for everyone, but if you like the feeling of a chill creeping down your spine as you turn the pages and catch a glimpse of a shadow in the corner of your room, then you should pick up a manga by Junji Ito. 

As well as being a renowned manga artist, he’s collaborated with Wizards of the Coast to create some unique cards in a Secret Lair Drop in 2022. 

Talking about Magic: the Gathering and manga, VIZ Media has released a new series called Destroy All Humans. They Can’t Be Regenerated. A Magic: The Gathering Manga, Vol. 1.(The first volume even comes with an exclusive promo card.)
