Comics Comics Comics | Featured Titles for May 2nd!

Welcome to the Grand Adventure Blog. I am your host, Samantha. The original DC Universe was created in the 1940s with the debut of the Justice Society of America. Before the official merger, National/DC and All-American Publications lived somewhat harmoniously for a time, and it made sense to release stories featuring the companies’ characters working together. So in 1940’s All-Star Comics #3, heroes from National (like The Spectre and The Sandman) met All-American's best (including Green Lantern, The Flash, and The Atom) to form The Justice Society of America, the first superhero team and a predecessor to the Justice League of America that was introduced in the early 1960s. We have some amazing comics this week. Don’t forget to watch on Tuesdays at 5:30 pm for the Comic Lottery. They have some amazing things coming in. Watch and don’t forget to get your names in for the comic lottery.

Our comics for the Lottery this week are as follows:

  • Canceled (Horror story)
  • Hulk (1:25)

I have three comics this week for you to enjoy. It is a great and wondrous week when we can have some amazing comics to share with you.

First comic we have is Monkey Prince #4. The Penguin, now possessed by a demon trying to consume Batman, has both Batman and Marcus Sun’s hench people parents captured! It’s up to Monkey Prince and Robin to work together in this unlikely hijinks team up you never knew you so sorely needed to see for this not-so-dynamic duo to rescue their parents!

A second comic is Mirka Andolfo’s Sweet Paprika #9. Paprika seems to have gone off the radar. Her latest emotional blow will be difficult to overcome, and the same can be said for Dill. But what about Za’atar? Maybe a trip to Italyis what they all need to clear their heads.

A third comic to look out for is Jim Henson’s The Storyteller: Shapeshifters #3. Cartoonist Em Niwa (INGOVY) weaves a beautiful story based on the folktale about the Japanese word for fox or kitsune. The Storyteller’s tale tells of a family with unconventional origins, a woman that is more than she seems, and the bonds of unconditional love that can transcend anything.
